Professional Learning: Development Opportunities

The best school leaders and schools invest significant time and energy looking to “spot potential”, both for students and staff! A key focus for this work is succession planning and talent management.

Professional learning happens at every stage of your career. It is the key to happiness, success, fulfilment, and means we are doing the best for the schools we work in.

  • Get Into Teaching – schools have always played a significant role in teacher training and through the School Direct programme, Inspire TSA recruits, trains and develops outstanding teachers in school-based training, in partnership with local universities.
  • Retraining (TSST) – We provide knowledge enhancement courses for practitioners looking to teach subjects different to their specialism, known nationally as Teacher Subject Specific Training.
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) – Inspire TSA works closely with other TSAs and St Paul's own Professional Centre to deliver professional development opportunities for teachers, support staff, governors, local authorities and companies across the south of England.
  • Research & Development - the best teaching is grounded in research and innovation. We invest in developing learning communities, evaluating pedagogy and supporting staff with post-graduate study and action research.

We also believe that if you have the potential we will give you significant leadership opportunities early in your career. We believe that the work of the Alliance could lead to exceptional opportunities for coaching, shadowing and secondments.

In the last two years we have developed and delivered three highly successful leadership programmes which over one hundred teachers have been involved in. These have been very popular and successful and have catered for primary and secondary specialists.

We are a Leadership Development School and welcome those seeking NPQH placements. We will also work closely with Alliance schools to secure the best opportunities to develop you as leaders. We have made a special commitment to supporting and developing outstanding leaders for faith schools at all levels.
